Rooms With a View - Building the Booth

Rooms With a View is an annual event that raises fund for different charity event in Fairfield County. It is hosted at the South Congregational Church in Southport, CT. Every year designers get invited to the event and are asked to display, build a theme like vignette.

This year JustWalls LLC collaborated with Lynn Morgan Design out of Rowayton, CT to build and create the booth. The theme that LMD chose was

''Christmas in the Caribbean''

The Walls

The booth comes as a blank canvas and JustWalls worked on installing 1x8 shiplap boards to create a Wainscoting effect on the walls. Shiplap is installed horizontally and then it was prepped with 3 coats of ''Fine Paint of Europe'' White High gloss oil Holland Brilliant.

The walls were prepped for wallpaper with R35, it is the process of sizing. Prep coats are clear and light duty. They are best used for installations where you want to be sure that the new wallpaper gets a good grip on the surface. The wallpaper  ''Panama'' is from the Cosmopolitan collection which is from ''Nobilis Wallcoverings'

The Ceiling

The ceiling was painting a light Aqua instead of White to pick up on the other colors of the space and to create a very soothing effect.

The Floors

The colors from the ceiling picked up on the floor, which was painted to look like an old white washed porch floor. It was hand sanded and painted in layers.
